On February 22, 2025, the Toronto Maple Leafs unveiled a special-edition logo celebrating Black Excellence during their annual Black Excellence Game presented by Rogers. Designed by Toronto-based artist Toji Nola, the logo features 13 root branches symbolizing the team’s Stanley Cup victories and the Black community’s deep-rooted heritage. Triangles within the design represent community, leadership, and character—key aspects of Black Excellence. The game against the Carolina Hurricanes at Scotiabank Arena included special events such as a youth skater’s participation in the opening ceremony and an intermission performance by Canadian country artist Sacha.
